Mesaimeer coach Tarik Makhnass spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Jetour League Week 2 match against Umm Salal.

“The team was physically, mentally, technically and tactically prepared, following the game plan we have been practising. Although the team isn't at full strength with its foreign players, it was ready in all other aspects.

“Umm Salal are a strong opponent. Our victory in the first round gave us a huge morale boost. However, the second round is different because our opponent is a strong team, recently relegated from Doha Bank Stars League.

“I have great confidence in the team. We are ready for the match. We respect our opponent, but we don't fear them,” said Makhnass.

Mesaimeer player Hisham Kamal said, “As the coach mentioned, our victory was important and morale-boosting. Yes, we expected to win because our preparation period included seven friendly matches, one of which was against Muaither. We were technically and physically prepared, and we played to secure the three points.”
