Al Gharafa’s Algerian star Yacine Brahimi expressed delight at his team’s positive start to their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League campaign. He said that the winning start was a big motivation for the team towards achieving the results the club’s fans are looking forward to.

Brahimi said, “We’re happy to have achieved a 2-1 victory over Al Shahania. The contest was difficult, especially since matches at the beginning of the season always require a great deal of focus. But we showed good character and succeeded in collecting the three points. This is the most important thing for us.

“We have a very tough match ahead against Al Shamal and we are well aware that we will be facing an organized team. We will need be to be highly focused. Our ambition is clear, we want to win every match we play and we know that this requires a lot of work and consistency throughout the season.”

The Algerian star continued, “Al Gharafa are a great team and it is natural that we always look forward to competing for the league title. The season is long and the competition will be strong, so we have to deal with one match at a time and not think too far ahead.”

Regarding the team’s preparations, he said, “Our overseas camp was very beneficial. We played a number of friendly matches which has helped us raise the level of physical and technical readiness, and cohesion among the players. The technical staff also worked on many tactical aspects in preparation for the start of the competitions.”

Brahimi concluded by saying, “My goal is always to give my all on the pitch and help Al Gharafa in every way I can. We play as a team, and the team’s success comes before any personal goals. We know the high expectations of our fans and we will do everything we can to make them happy.
