Al Markhiya coach Poya Asbaghi spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Jetour League Week 6 match against Al Waab.

“The team had aimed for a win in the last outing. However, conceding two goals at critical moments impacted the final result, even though Al Markhiya managed to fight back and level the score.

“The opponents’ defeats in the last two rounds does not mean the match will be easy. Al Waab are a well-organized defensive side that will enter the game highly motivated to bounce back, a scenario that will require us to perform at our usual high standard,” said Asbaghi.

Al Markhiya player Roger Martinez said, “We must return to winning ways in the upcoming match. The squad remains calm and confident, working collectively to sustain the positive momentum and maintain the position at the top of league standings.”
