The 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League’s Week 12 matches will be played on Sunday and Monday, 29th and 30th January, 2023, with three games on each day.

It will be a new round of excitement. The battle for supremacy between Al Duhail and Al Arabi will be renewed and the race for top-four positions and to improve standings by teams will hot up further.

Reigning champions Al Sadd (sixth with 13 points) face Al Markhiya (ninth with nine points).

Al Sadd have played nine matches with two postponed games in hand and Al Markhiya eight with three postponed fixtures.

Al Sadd are on a high, having beaten Al Rayyan in the Qatar Clasico and then Al Arabi in the Qatar Derby back-to-back, while Al Markhiya resumed their league campaign after the big break by holding Al Ahli to a 2-2 draw.

In simultaneous kick-off, Al Sailiya (last in the table with four points) take on Al Gharafa (seventh with 13 points).

.

Al Sailiya suffered three consecutive defeats after the break, while Al Gharafa lost twice before drawing 2-2 with Al Rayyan in Week 11.

In Sunday’s last match, Al Ahli (fifth with 14 points) face Umm Salal (10th with seven points).

Al Ahli will look to compensate for dropping points against Al Markhiya that saw them slip from fourth to fifth place, while Umm Salal will be keen to put behind the big defeat against Qatar SC (1-4) in Week 11.

On Monday, Al Wakrah (third with 18 points) run into Al Duhail (table toppers with 23 points).

Both teams scored victory in the last round (Al Duhail beat Al Shamal 2-0 and Al Wakrah defeated Al Sailiya 5-0). It was Al Duhail’s third successive win, whereas Al Wakrah got back to the winning path after their loss to Al Arabi.

.

In simultaneous kick-off, Al Shamal (eighth with 10 points) face Al Rayyan (11th with five points). It is a good opportunity for both teams to collect points and improve their standings.

Al Shamal had lost 0-2 to Al Duhail, while Al Rayyan held Al Gharafa to a 2-2 draw in Week 11.

That the round’s last match will be an exciting one is a foregone conclusion, when in-form Qatar SC (fourth with 16 points) take on Al Arabi (second with 22 points).

A series of positive results has boosted the morale of Qatar SC players (they beat Umm Salal 4-1 in Week 11), while Al Arabi would want to forget the 0-2 defeat against Al Sadd with yet another strong performance.
