Al Rayyan coach Artur Jorge spoke to the media ahead of their 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League Week 7 match against Al Shahania.

“Regarding our preparations for the Al Shahania match, we have worked on maintaining a balance between performance and results. We hoped to achieve better results than we have in the past, but now we are aiming for victory. Looking at the players, I believe they are ready to face the opponents and achieve victory and we must always give our best.

“Regarding facing my son in this match… this is not our first encounter as we have previously met in the Portuguese league. We both work professionally and I hope that the match will end in Al Rayyan’s favour. I hope to be happier than him at the end of the match.”

Al Rayyan player Mostafa El Sayed said, “The preparations are the same as for any match. We are currently working on getting the team back on track in the league to return Al Rayyan to its rightful place.

“We are not satisfied with the performance and the team’s current position in the league, so we will work to achieve victory.”
