Al Gharafa beat Al Sailiya 3-0 in Week 11 of the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League at the Al Gharafa Stadium on Wednesday.

Almahdi Ali (32nd minute), Ahmed Alaaeldin (35th minute) and Gabiel Perez (67th minute) scored for Al Gharafa, who moved on to 19 points with their sixth victory.

Al Sailiya’s woes compounded as they stood on five points after crashing to their eighth defeat.

After initial forays by Al Sailiya, which saw Mohammed Salah El Neel’s header go out off the crossbar in the 26th minute and Fahad Khalfan’s shot being blocked by Al Gharafa goalkeeper Yousef Hassan the next minute, Al Gharafa settled into their stride.

Soon, Ahmed Alaaeldin hit wide of the target.

Al Gharafa took the lead through Almahdi Ali, who slotted home a rebound off Claude Amine after the goalkeeper stopped Saifeldeen Fadlalla’s long-range shot. Ahmed Al Janehi, who replaced striker Cheick Diabate, had set Almahdi up for the goal.

Ahmed Alaaeldin doubled the lead before long by sending in an angular grounder to the far post from the edge of the box.

Diabate had made a couple of attempts before his substitution.

Changing ends, Al Gharafa continued their domination and Perez was on target with a long-range shot, assisted by Othman Al Yahri.

Al Sailiya made some attempts at the goal. Captain Majdi Siddiq had his free-kick go narrowly wide in the 75th minute and Driss Fettouhi’s two attempts, in the 84th and 89th minutes, did not bear fruit.
