Hernan Crespo: Ready to face Al Wakrah, our goal is to qualify for the final

Sultan Al Breik: Qatar Cup is different from league, our goal is to reach final

Al Duhail coach Hernan Crespo and player Sultan Al Breik spoke to the media ahead of their Qatar Cup 2023 semifinal against Al Wakrah, to be played at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium of Al Sadd club on Thursday, February 9.

Crespo said, “We are happy and proud to participate in the tournament. This work is the continuation of the work of coach Luis Castro, the former coach of Al Duhail. Our goal is to reach the final and win the title and I am happy with what the team is doing in the league championship.

“The absence of Ruben Semedo and Edmilson Junior affected us a lot recently, but we have many distinguished players and we have all the capabilities to go far in the entire tournament this season. Al Duhail players have a great deal of responsibility and this facilitates my work. We are a strong team and this gives us confidence to play all matches strongly.

“Facing Al Wakrah will be difficult and it is certainly different from the league. We defeated them two weeks ago in the league championship and we will work to repeat that to reach the final.

“Our goal is to win all tournaments where we compete with full respect for all teams, but we work daily to reach a high level of readiness and harmony.

Sultan Al Breik said, “A difficult match awaits us against Al Wakrah and cup matches are always different from the league.

“We participate during the season in many tournaments and we play with great concentration in all tournaments and our goal is to win all titles.

“Facing Al Wakrah in the Qatar Cup will be difficult and the match will have only one winner so we must be careful and focus to achieve our goal of qualifying for the final. Al Wakrah have distinguished players and our matches against them are always strong and difficult, and this is what we expect in the semifinal.”
