Al Ahli secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over 10-man Qatar SC in Week 3 of 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League at Al Thumama Stadium on Thursday.

Qatar SC were reduced to 10 men in the 12th minute when Eisa Palangi was shown a red card following a reckless tackle on Ahmed Reyed Mawla.

Despite enjoying a numerical advantage for most of the match, Al Ahli struggled to break down The Kings’ resilient defence, with the first half ending goalless.

The Brigadiers came close to taking the lead in the 58th minute when Ismail Mohammed struck the crossbar with a right-footed effort from inside the box following an assist from Benjamin Bourigeaud.

Just when the contest appeared destined to end in a stalemate, Younes Hussein made the decisive breakthrough in the 82nd minute. He headed the ball into a virtually empty net after Julian Draxler’s initial effort was kept out, reacting quickest to the rebound.

The solitary goal proved enough for Al Ahli to claim all three points, taking their tally to four, while Qatar SC remained on one point.
