Al Sadd were beaten 4-1 by Al Ittihad of Saudi Arabia in 2025-2026 AFC Champions League Elite at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha on Tuesday.

Al Ittihad finished fourth in the West Zone standings with 15 points, with Al Sadd also qualifying with eight points after taking the last Round of 16 spot following Al Gharafa’s defeat to Tractor FC.

Both teams were positioned at opposite ends of the spectrum, with Al Sadd needing a win to be confident of progressing. Al Ittihad had already secured their place in the Round of 16.

The match soon turned in the favour of Al Ittihad, who showcased their more clinical finishes upfront with their attackers finding the back of the net more than their hosts despite having lesser shots on target, five as opposed to Al Sadd’s seven, in the thrilling encounter.
