Al Sadd showed uncommon grit and will in their stunning 4-2 victory over the UAE’s Shabab Al Ahli in 2025-2026 season AFC Champions League Elite at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha on Tuesday.
Rafa Mujica was in sensational form, bagging a hat-trick as three extra-time goals helped The Wolves to their first win of the tournament in dramatic fashion on a cool night in Doha.
The hosts had fallen behind by two goals with Federico Cartabia’s 47th-minute opener and a 70th minute penalty goal by Yahya Al Ghassani, almost consigning them to another defeat after six matches before fortune eventually smiled on them.
Mujica pulled one back for Al Sadd in the 75th minute before Tarek Salman fired home the equaliser in 90+5 minute.
Mujica netted two more in 90+11 and 90+13 minutes as Roberto Mancini’s side completed a fantastic turnaround to bag the maximum points which extended their tally to five points.
