
Lekhwiya playmaker Nam Tae Hee picked up the best player award at the 2017 QFA awards. South Korean international Nam edged out fellow players Hassan Haydos and Xavi of Al Sadd to take home the top award from the event held on Saturday evening at the QNCC.
The Lekhwiya number ten has perhaps enjoyed his finest ever season with the Red Knights, notching fourteen goals. Aside from scoring goals Nam also registered nine assists for his teammates as Lekhwiya swept to their fifth QSL title in seven seasons.
The 25 year old attacker led by example for his side this term coming up with a host of crucial late goals including a 90th minute winner against Al Ahli to seal the title for Lekhwiya.
Nam’s fine technique and work rate has epitomized Lekhwiya’s title run this season, often pulling out victories at the very last. In fact Nam picked up the QSL player of the month award for September and October underlined his successful season with the Red Knights.
Now in his sixth season with the club, Nam has never enjoyed such successful figures with Lekhwiya. Prior to this season his highest goal scoring tally came in the 2013/2014 campaign where the skilful midfielder bagged 12 goals for his side.
However this term Nam’s outstanding performances has galvanized his side and pushed on his team mates all the way to QSL glory. Lekhwiya will now be hoping that Nam can continue his form as they look to progress in the AFC Champions League.
