QSL side Al Rayyan has further strengthened their squad ahead of the new campaign, announcing the signing of Qatar international midfielder Abdul Maqsoud. The club confirmed their news via social media on Wednesday evening, with the player signing his contract in the presence of club officials.

The 27-year-old midfielder has plenty of QSL experience having played for several clubs including Lekhwiya, Al Arabi and most recently representing Al Ahli on loan. The signing of Maqsoud is the Lions third signing of the summer transfer window following the capture of Left back Mohammed Jumma and Abderrazak Hamdallah from El Jaish.

In other news, Al Rayyan has extended the contract of attacker Babou Sidiki for two seasons. Sidiki had previously played last season on loan at Al Khor and a host of eye-catching performances convinced management to hold onto the winger.
