Matches between these two QSL rivals have always been entertaining fixtures. QSL online decided to look back at the matches over the years to see which side has had the upper hand ahead of their round 11 match of the week tie.Both teams have met in a total of ten matches in the QSL with Umm Salal grabbing 4 wins. Al Arabi has only won two times. Both sides have shared the points on 4 occasions.
There is no doubt that each team will seek to win the game and gain the three points in order to preserve their current top 4 status.
In the first leg of the 2010/2011 season seen an entertaining 2-2 draw between the sides. In the second leg Al Arabi won 2-1 thanks to goals from South American duo Kaburi and Pescu while Thamer Jamal scored a consolation goal for Umm Salal.
The 2011/2012 season the sides drew on both occasions. The first leg tie ended in a 1-1 draw and goals scored by Abdel Aziz Al Sulaiti for Al Arabi and Saoud Al Ghanem for Umm Salal. Whilst he second leg match ended in a goalless draw.
During the 2012/2013 season, Umm Salal won both matches against Al Arabi. In the first leg Umm Salal defeated Al Arabi 3-1 goals from Said Bu Taher, Mohamed Yasser and Maher Youssef gave the Orange Fortress all three points whilst Nasser Khalfan scored a consolation for Al Arabi.
During the 2013/2014 season, houours where even, as Umm Salal won the first leg fixture by one goal while Al Arabi won the second leg fixture 3-2.
Last year Umm Salal succeeded in winning the first leg match 1-0 thanks to an Abdel Qader Elias goal. In the second leg the teams both teams drew 0-0.It promises to be a interesting tie when Umm Salal face Al Arabi at the Jassim Bin Hamad stadium on Saturday the 4th of Decemeber, Kick-off at 18:30pm.
