El Jaish took on Al Shahania at the Abdullah bin Khalifa stadium last Friday at 17:30 in the evening.  The Soldiers had lost their previous game to Al Gharafa (2-1) and could not afford to lose any more matches if they still hoped to clinch the title come the end of the season.

Al Shahania was in 13th place prior to this clash and with one game in hand.

It didn’t take long for Shahania to concede however; new signing Romarinho timed his run to perfection on the edge of the box. He received the through-ball from Mohammed Muntari and slotted home the opener with his weaker left foot (10’).

Mohammed Muntari got on the score sheet himself; the rangy striker converted a penalty on 32 minutes to give his side a two goal cushion.

In the second half, South Korean Lee Keun-Ho added a third with another penalty conversion and then just three minutes later he scored again to give his side an unassailable lead. The goal came from a corner as the ball was sent to the far post, it was headed back across  the face of goal and to the deadly Korean who made no mistake with his second of the season.

The referee blew for full time on a night that Al Shahania would quickly want to forget.

The result leaves the Oryxes in 13th place and El Jaish move up to fourth in the Qatar Stars League.
