Djamel Belmadi, who has returned to guide Al Duhail, is a distinguished coach who has achieved success during his coaching career with Al Duhail and Qatar’s national team, as well as with the Algerian national team, and with whom he won the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
He entered the world of coaching with Al Duhail Club, winning several titles and championships, including the League Shield four times (2010/2011, 2011/2012, 2016/2017, and 2017/2018).
He also won the 22nd Gulf Cup with Qatar’s national team in Riyadh and the West Asian Championship in Doha in 2014.
Djamel Belmadi began his football career with Paris Saint-Germain, playing for Martigues, before moving to Marseille. He also played for French club Stade Malherbe Caen during the 1998-99 season, and then returned to French club Marseille during the 1999-2000 season, in addition to playing for English club Manchester City.
He played for Al Gharafa during the 2003-04 season, and the following season he joined Al Kharaitiyat Club.
