Jaish keeper targeting victory over QSL champions

El Jaish keeper Saoud Al Khater believed that his side will react appropriately when they take on Al Rayyan in the QSL match of the week for round 17. The Qatari keeper spoke with QSL online ahead of the crunch clash to give his thoughts on the game.

Al Khater opened up the conversation, stressing that Jaish are looking forward to playing the current QSL champions, despite having a host of players missing through suspension and injury.  “We hope to achieve positive result as we are playing for the win all games. There is no doubt that we will enter the coming game versus Al Rayyan looking for the three points despite the suspended or injured players, as ever we are confident that El Jaish can come out on top.”

Jaish dropped points against Al Khor last time out in a uninspiring -0-0. Despite the result, Al Khater insists that his side are focusing on the challenge at hand; “Each match is different from the other. I didn’t expect us to tie against Al Khor, nevertheless the team performed well. The previous match is in the past now and we are all focused now on Al Rayyan clash.”

Sabri Lamouchi’s team drew 1-1 with Rayyan in their first half of the season match, despite dominating passion. The Qatar international keeper stressed his side will be fighting for a win.  “I expect the match to end up in favor of one of both teams, definitely in our favor. We will do our best to gain the win.”

“I thank God for such distinguished performance as well as my teammates. We are one team and everyone is doing their best to complement each other whether on the field of play or on the bench. The most important thing is for the team to win. The best features of our team are the collective play, team spirit, solidarity and determination. I will always carry out my duties precisely and after I grabbed the opportunity, I will do my best to keep it. Indeed the competition within the team is for our benefit as we still colleagues and friends” Added the keeper when looking back on his performances with Jaish since replacing Khalifa Ababacar in the side.

Ending the conversation, Al Khater stressed that his side is still in the hunt for the QSL title despite being in third place. “Our objective is to compete for all titles this season. Despite the fact that it really tough; however we have the ability and quality to fight and lift the QSL title.”
