
Winger aiming for top four glory with Al Gharafa
Al Gharafa midfielder Othman Al Yahri is expecting a tough test when his Al Gharafa side take on Al Sadd in the QSL match of the week on Saturday evening at Al Sadd stadium. Al Gharafa’s number 11 spoke to QSL online to give his thoughts on the game.
Opening up the conversation Al Yahri noted that his side come into the game on a high following their win against Al Shahania last time out. “We are ready to go for for our match against Al Sadd. We are hoping to continue our good form after the 3-0 win over Al Shahania, Al Sadd will be a bigger test but we will rise to the challenge.”
“Al Gharafa is a big team in Qatar and we deserve to be in a better position in the league. We are a united at all levels to do our best for the club. We have plenty of determination to match our ambitions of a top four finish” added the twenty-three year old winger.
Al Yahri also stressed that Al Gharafa is taking each match in the league on a game by game basis.“We are aiming at being one of the top four teams in addition to competing for the QSL title. Despite the difficult task ahead Al Gharafa will push on.”
Reflecting on the last match between the two sides in the league Al Yahri “The first leg game ended in 3-3 draw which was a very interesting game. The chances are balanced, with Al Sadd in the 2nd position and we fifth. Both sides are well aware that they are facing a tough opponent.”
Ending the interview, Al Gharafa’s flying winger noted that he will be aiming to close down the Wolves captain Xavi during the game “Al Sadd is a complete team with high quality players. I see Xavi as the most dangerous player. He is a superstar and a brilliant playmaker,If we can stop him I am sure Al Gharafa can get a result.”
