Al Duhail youngster Almoez Ali believes that his side is stronger than ever, and well placed to make a creditable challenge for the QNB Stars League title this season. Last season’s U23 player of the year, had an exclusive chat with QSL online to outline his hopes for the season ahead. 

Duhail have been formed from El Jaish and Lekhiwya merging, and Ali believes that this can only strengthen his sides prospects. “ The new players in the squad will help us now doubt. They have made us even stronger, which is a huge help for the side that will help us compete on all fronts.

“We are focused fully on winning all the trophies on offer, be them the league, Qatar Cup and Emir Cup. This is always the aim with our group of players.” Added the Qatar international when asked about Duhails aims for the new season. 

Almoez Ali has had a busy summer representing Qatar at both U23 and full international level games. Only having one week of preseason, that said playing high profile internationals have enabled the talented younger to be in the best possible shape for the new season. “I have been working hard for the national team, playing in high pressured games and this has focused me, meaning I am fully fit for Duhail. 

The young attacker signed off the interview suggesting that Duhial will be pushed hard if they are to lift the QNB Stars League crown at the first time of asking. “I feel that our side is stronger that last season, with our additions such as Lucas Medes and Khalifa Abacar. Although Al Rayyan and Al Sadd will challenge us we are again confident that we can win the league, god willing.” Al Duhail kick-off their QNB Stars League season with a home encounter against newly promoted Qatar SC.
