Match Kick-off at 19:15, Sat’ 21th in the Jassim bin Hamad

Al Sadd head coach Hussein Ammouta:
“We are playing for the title. It's a very important game for us. We made a mistake and lost a game after the winter break. But we are now back at the top of the standings. It's an opportunity for us to not to make mistakes and retain the top spot.”

“We will have to factor in the tiredness of the players but we have three days to recover from our Champions League game and we will have to manage with that. There are other times when you get a gap of just two days. It's not going to be easy but hopefully our injured players will come back early giving us options to switch between players for different games. And we also hope that we don’t suffer any new injuries that can take players away.”

“It has been tough to play the ACL and the QSL simultaneously, especially since our ACL games have gone into extra time and have been tough games. The players are tired mentally and physically. We need more players on the bench to be able maintain our level. Muriqui and Mehdi Ali will miss the game.”

Al Arabi head coach José Daniel Carreño:
“The next game is a clasico against Al Sadd. When you play in clasico you don't think about logic but it's about what happens during the 90 minutes. Sadd are top of the league and have qualified for the ACL. But we are hoping that this difference in statistics won't be visible on the field.”

“We don't think that Sadd's situation of having tired players will help us. They might be tired but they will also be fired up from having qualified for the ACL group stages. That will motivate them more and I wouldn't mind being in their situation.”

“Both teams are coming from good results and it can have a positive effect on the level of the game. As for the result, in a derby, you cannot use statistics to predict the outcome.”

“I have now worked with the team for a good period. The players are starting to understand my philosophy. But it's still a work in progress. I hope that the supporters will come and enjoy this game. They will be treated to a good level of football.”
