Al Shamal coach Poya Asbaghi spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League match against Al Wakrah postponed from Week 13.

“The match will be a difficult challenge in view of the strength of the competitor, who presented a distinguished season with very good performances and results.

“The Al Wakrah team always works collectively and monitors the opposing players all over the field, but at the same time Al Shamal also made good performances in many matches. We have good players at the individual level.

“In our last match against Al Wakrah, we showed a good level and we hope to repeat the positive things we presented in that match during next Tuesday’s match, especially since our goal is to win and get three points,” said Asbaghi.

Al Shamal player Younis Belhanda said, “Al Wakrah are a very good team, they have players at the highest level and occupy a distinguished position in the league, so the task will not be easy for us. But at the same time, we need to win and get the three points, which is what we will work on during the match.

“Just as Al Wakrah have players at the highest level, we also have distinguished players who have a great desire to achieve victory.

“We will go into the match with great seriousness and look forward to translating our efforts into a victory that will enable us to continue our journey in the league and advance in the standings.”
