Reigning QNB Stars League champions Al Sadd are up against Saudi Arabia’s Al Faisaly in the second round of 2022 AFC Champions League Group E on Monday, 11th April. The match will kick off at 23:15 at the Prince Mohamed Bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam.

Al Sadd will look to post their first victory, having drawn 1-1 with Uzbekistan’s Nasaf in the opening round.

Similarly, Al Faisaly had drawn 1-1 with Jordan’s Al Wehdat in the first round.

Al Sadd, who had won the continental title twice before (1989 and 2011), had made a brilliant fightback after being down to nine men against Nasaf, with defenders Abdelkarim Hassan and Pedro Miguel being given the marching orders.

Al Sadd, coached by Spaniard Javi Gracia, had recently retained the QNB Stars League shield with an unbeaten record.

The Wolves have many players whom Gracia can rely on, most notably Akram Afif, Baghdad Bounedjah, Santi Cazorla and Boualem Khoukhi, who scored their equaliser against Nasaf.

Al Sadd also have players such as Mohammed Waad, Tarek Salman and Musaab Khader to compensate for the absence of Abdelkarim and Pedro at the rear.
