<p>Al Rayyan waged a spirited battle from being two goals down inside of 15 minutes to share spoils with leaders Al Duhail following a thrilling 3-3 draw in the marquee clash of QNB Stars League’s Week 14 on Saturday.</p><p>Karim Boudiaf (third minute), Dame Traore (15th), and Nam Tae-Hee (63rd) were Al Duhail’s scorers, while Sebastian Soria (25th) and Abderrazzaq Hamdallah (28th and 43rd-min penalty) scored for Al Rayyan.</p><p>Hamdallah took his tally to 11 goals this season, whereas Soria and Nam are each on eight.</p><p>Al Duhail moved to 36 points and Al Rayyan stayed third, behind Al Sadd, on 32.</p><p>In front of a loudly-cheering sizeable number of fans, hosts Al Duhail seized the early advantage in the fast-paced, high-stake encounter between the QNB Stars League’s top teams through headed goals by Boudiaf and Traore.</p><p>Boudiaf rose above the rival players and made good advantage of his height to open the floodgates.</p><p>Al Rayyan soon got a chance to equalise, but The Red Knights goalkeeper Amine Lecomte palmed away Rodrigo Tabata’s free-kick, awarded when Traore fouled him.</p><p>Traore’s goal came off a free-kick that was first headed by captain Youssef Msakni.</p><p>Soria reduced the margin for Al Rayyan through a long-range angular shot, capitalising on a defensive mistake. Hamdallah helped them draw parity when the rival defenders were all out of their positions, perhaps in a bid to score more goals and close the game. Defender Mohammed Moosa did his best to prevent him from scoring, in vain.</p><p>Al Rayyan then had a couple of close calls when the efforts of Boudiaf and Youssef El Arabi went narrowly wide.</p><p>Close to half-time, The Lions went ahead as Hamdallah converted a penalty, awarded when South Korean midfielder Koh Myong-Jin was felled in the area by Moosa.</p><p>Al Rayyan started the second half with a bang, with Soria missing the mark by a whisker off a Mohammed Alaaeldin cross from the right. At the other end, keeper Omar Barry came up with a timely save to deny Nam, who then missed a sitter.</p><p>The South Korean playmaker was not to be denied for long as he tapped the ball in after Murad Naji did the spadework along the right flank.</p><p>Both sides had chances towards the end. However, the stalemate continued.</p>
