Al Ahli coach Younes Ali spoke to the media ahead of their 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League Week 15 match against Al Wakrah.

“I expect a strong reaction from my players against Al Wakrah after our 1-3 loss to Qatar SC in the previous round. The team did not deserve to lose, considering our performance and the chances we created in that match, but individual errors cost us the game.

“Al Ahli are showing improvement in the matches and are capable of creating scoring opportunities, but we lack the finishing touch. Al Wakrah are a strong and distinguished team, and it is crucial to maintain focus to secure a victory,” said Younes.

Al Ahli player Michel Vlap said, “The players feel the pressure after the performance in the previous match, where we played well but missed numerous scoring opportunities against Qatar SC, ultimately losing 1-3.

“Therefore, our focus will be even greater in the upcoming match. Al Wakrah are a strong team and the game requires a high level of concentration.”
