The fifth edition of the Workers' Cup kicks-off at Qatar Sports Club (QSC) on Friday. Nakheel Landscapes will go head to head against Bin Omran Trading & Contracting in the opening match of the tournament which will begin at 6:45pm. Before the match there will be an opening ceremony which will commence at 6:15 pm.

Organised by Qatar Stars League (QSL) and sponsored by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), the seven-week tournament aims to demonstrate the power of football by uniting Qatar’s football community and offering an opportunity for workers involved in building 2022 FIFA World Cup infrastructure a chance to take part in a high-profile event.

Last year 24 teams took part in the tournament and this year the number has expanded to 32 teams. Over 600 players will be participating in the largest ever Workers' Cup this year. The tournament’s showpiece final will be played on March 31. General admission for every Workers Cup match is free and everyone is welcome to attend and cheer on the competing teams.

Every Friday for seven weeks, matches will be played at the Qatar Sports Club stadium with the early kickoffs at 8:00am. the group stages will begin on February 17 and end on March 3. After the group stages, will be the Play Offs which will be played on March 10, the Quarterfinals on March 17, Semifinals on March 24 and the showpiece final which will be held on March 31.
