After last week’s round of 16 playoffs, it’s now time for the quarter-finals of the Workers’ Cup and the Workers’ Shield this Friday. The matches are set to take place at the QFA Al Thumama Fields. Eight matches will be played featuring sixteen teams. This year the playoffs have been split into two divisions, the “Workers’ Cup”, which will feature teams who finish first and second in the group stages whilst the “Workers’ Shield”, which will feature teams who have finished third and fourth in their respective groups.

So far, in the fifth edition of the tournament, 64 matches have been played with close to 10,000 spectators catching the action. The spectators had plenty to cheer about with 350 goals scored in the competition to date.

The first match in the Workers Cup quarter-finals will be between Nakheel Landscapes and Taleb Group which will kick off at 8:00am. At the same time ALYSJ will go head to head against Al Asmakh Facilities. Galfar Al Misnad will take on TRAGS at 9:30am and at the same time Delta will battle it out with Cofely Besix Mannai for a place in the semi-finals.

In the Workers Shield last eight, Larsen and Toubro will be up against G4S at 8:00am, at the same time Desert line and AALCO will fight for a place in the semi-finals. QDVC will face DULSCO kicking off at 9:30am. Medgulf will lock horns with Carillion to book a spot in the last four.

General admission to all Workers’ Cup matches is free and everyone is encouraged to attend and cheer on the participating teams.
