Struggling Al Ahli will be looking to beef up reserves with quality players during the transfer window, a top club official said in an interview on Wednesday.
 
Winless in the last six Qatar Stars League (QSL) clashes has left in ninth spot.
 
Club official Khaled Shabib said 'change is imminent at Al Ahli'.
 
"There will be some (additional) support during the winter transfer window," Shabib said in an interview with QSL website.
 
"Also there should be review for the reasons that led to such decline in our performances," he said.

 
“We are in complete communication with coach Zlatko Kranjcar in order to figure out the errors and means to rectify them during the coming period.

 



"In the transfer window (you) will witness some changes to support the team,” Shabib said defiantly
 
He refused to point out the positions that needed change.
 
“We are currently focusing on the QSL matches but when there is a pause between games, we will have more details,” Shabib said.
 



Commenting on whether Kranjcar would remain the coach or not, he said:
“When we signed a contract with him at the end of the last year, the team had pretty good results, but so far the circumstances have been difficult with injuries to key players. Of course we have played poorly also. Nevertheless I don’t blame the head coach.”
 
Shabib pointed out that the team's Congolese striker Ndombe Mubele 'didn’t adapt to the team despite the fact that he is a very distinguished player'.
 
Shabib also made a mention of the declining performances of Mujtaba Jabbari.
 
Regarding the comments of team captain Meshaal Abdullah that the foreign players don’t add to the team, Shabib said: “Meshaal didn’t criticize anyone particuar, but what he meant that some players witnessed decline in their performances such as Mujtaba Jabbari in addition to off days from Mubele.”
 
Al Ahli take on El Jaish in a round 14 clash on December 20 at Hamad Bin Khalifah Stadium at 16:00.
