Al Khor travelled south to take on Umm Salal at the Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium on Tuesday Dec 9th.

Umm Salal was looking to move above Al Ahli who had lost to Al Shahania but Al Khor put up a stern defense.

The visitors Al Khor started the game on the right footing when they went ahead early on.  Striker William Souza scored in the 11th minute, which was then followed by Reda Shanba who scored on the 17th minute to give the Knights a two goal cushion.

After the break Umm Salal looked hungrier but it took until the 76th minute to break down a dogged Khor defense.

Umm Salal scored through Abdulqadir Ilyas Bakr’s penalty spot conversion (76’) to make it 2-1. However Al Khor then responded with a goal just 7 minutes later through Julio Cesar to restore their two goal cushion (3-1).

Then new Umm Salal signing Tuncay Sanli got his team’s second in the 87th minute to leave the Al Khor fans anxious for the final whistle.

But there was to be late drama at Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium when Jeremie Aliadière  secured a vital point for his side in extra time (95’).

The result leaves Umm Salal in 7th and Al Khor in 10th place in the Qatar Stars League.
