<p>Portuguese master Jesualdo Ferreira of Al Sadd was named as the best coach of 2018-19 season. He warded off the challenge from Al Sailiya’s Tunisian trainer Sami Trabelsi and Al Shahania’s Spanish master Jose Murcia.</p><p>Ferreira, who guided Al Sadd to the league triumph, helped The Wolves make great progress and they set many records in the tournament. Al Sadd scored a record number of 100 goals in 22 matches, winning 18 of them, drawing three and losing one. They conceded only 22 goals to have a goal difference of +78, the most by any team.</p><p>Al Sadd finished the league with 57 points, seven more than second-placed Al Duhail. They clinched the title with one round of action remaining, following their victory over Al Ahli.</p><p>Ferreira, who took over Al Sadd in November, 2015, is vastly experienced and has managed a host of top European sides including the likes of Malaga in Spain and Panathinaikos in Greece.</p><p>He has also coached Porto, Sporting, Braga and Benfica in his native country.</p><p>Ferreira had won the same award in the 2016-17 season as well.</p>
