Al Shamal rode on an Alex Collado strike to notch a valuable 1-0 victory over Al Rayyan in Week 13 of 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium on Saturday.

The Spanish midfielder struck in the 54th minute for Al Shamal after Al Rayyan goalkeeper Mahmoud Abunada had punched away a Baghdad Bounedjah attempt.

Buoyed by the success, Al Shamal pushed harder but had a goal cancelled for offside in stoppage time and another in dying seconds after Bounedjah was found to be offside.

The win took Al Shamal’s tally to 24 points, while Al Rayyan remained on 23 points.
