Umm Salal coach Patrice Carteron spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 19 match against Muaither.

“During the last period, we tried to correct the mistakes that occurred in the Week 18 match against Al Wakrah, during which the team appeared in an unusual way, and we were not on our day. The team took advantage of the break and we worked very hard to correct the mistakes. I see that our players are ready to play the next match and I have great confidence in the extent of their responsibility and eagerness to regain victories again.

“We will enter the match with Muaither strongly and I consider this clash as a final as Muaither will enter the match with a great desire to return, and my team is looking forward to winning and getting the three points in order to improve its position in the standings and move forward. We have to be realistic that we will be playing against a team that wants to come back and from here we will enter the match with full force in order to win the three points. We know that it will be a very difficult game especially in view of the situation of the two teams, and we will be extremely focused and tactically disciplined to achieve the result we hope for,” said Carteron.

Umm Salal player Abdulrahman Fayez said, “We will enter this match with high concentration and we view it as an important match. We are interested in winning the three points and this is what we have been working on throughout the past period. The team made a great effort throughout the season and we must have a good position in the standings.

“Umm Salal this season is different from last season and we are trying to be in a better position.”
