Muaither coach Jorge Da Silva spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 19 match against Umm Salal.

“Umm Salal are a strong team this season and have a good coach and distinguished players, and for us the match against them will be very important and there is no alternative to winning and getting three points to get out of our current position in the table. We aspire to move away from the danger zone and we will make every effort on the field and take any opportunity that comes to us.

“During the recent break, we worked to intensify training and prepare various tactical plans, and I spoke with the players about the necessity of implementing instructions and focusing in all the matches that we play and reaping victories, which in turn brings us confidence and spirit that enables us to provide the best level.

“We are focusing on all the upcoming matches, which we consider to be cup matches, and there is no room for giving up points because we are playing in decisive rounds, and it is necessary to achieve victory in order to move further away from the danger zone,” said Da Silva.

Muaither player Yousef Al Yahri said, “The match against Umm Salal, one of the strong teams this season, is very important and they are performing well in the league championship. We must have extreme focus and exploit all opportunities available to us in front of the goal.

“We have benefited greatly from the recent break and we are working with the technical staff non-stop until we reach a high level of readiness. We have five matches that we consider as finals and there is no room for wasting points. I trust my team-mates and their ability to provide distinguished levels that suit us and help us move out of the current situation.”
