Al Shamal hit back with three late goals to beat Al Shahania 4-2 in Week 3 of 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Al Bayt Stadium on Friday.

Al Shahania were reduced to 10 men in the 72nd minute while leading 2-1, with Andreas van Beek being sent off for a dangerous challenge on Baghdad Bounedjah.

Earlier, the two sides were locked 1-1 at half-time.

Abdelkarim Hassan (25th minute), Mowafak Awad (80th and 90th minutes) and Bounedjah (90+10 minute) scored the goals for Al Shamal, while Francesco Antonucci (45+4 minute-penalty) and Abdoulaye Traore (59th minute) did so for Al Shahania.

A powerful strike from outside left of the box by Hassan opened the scoring for Al Shamal, who seemed to hold sway through the first half until they conceded a penalty and Al Shahania equalized.

Post-break, Traore put his side ahead 2-1.

Despite being down by a man, Al Shahania defended well before Al Shamal hit back with a brace from Awad, who first connect a Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan assist and then converted an Abdullah Al Ahrak cross inside the box (3-2).

Bounedjah added more to the rivals’ misery as he collected a through ball to rush in and beat a hapless goalkeeper to make the scoreline 4-2.
