Al Ahli made the short trip across town to their rivals Al Arabi for what was sure to be a thrilling encounter. The game kicked off at 4pm at the Grand Hamad stadium and saw a game of two very different halves.

The home side - Al Arabi started the game on the right note when Imoh Ezekiel got his seventh goal of the season (27'). The Nigerian striker  has been in free scoring form since joining the Dream Team.

Ashkan Dejagah, one of Arabi’s star summer signings got off the mark just 10 minutes later when he scored Arabi’s second of the night and gave his side a two goal cushion.

And that’s how it ended in the first half, with Al Arabi comfortably in control and looking to see out the second half.

The second half however belonged solely to the visitors as they made an astonishing comeback to not only level but win the match.

And the first goal to ignite the fight back came when Dioko dispatched a penalty into the bottom right corner in the 66th minute. 

Then just 7 minutes later Dioko scored again, this time from open play as he fired in a mid-distance shot from the edge of the box into the bottom right corner.

The game was finely poised but the momentum was now clearly with the Brigadiers!

However it took until the 89^th minute for the winning goal to arrive and the hero of the night was Mojtaba Jabari when he scored to seal all three points. However the Iranian midfielder wasn’t finished as he then added insult to injury when he scored the teams fourth of the night in the 94^th minute.

Arabi head coach Dan Petrescu looked distraught as the final whistle blew, he knew that his side had thrown away all three points in a game that clearly was theirs for the taking.

The comeback of the season keeps Al Ahli in 5^th spot and level with Qatar Sports Club on 19 points each. Al Arabi continues to slide down the table and is now in 8^th spot.
