Al Wakrah travelled to the Thani bin Jassim stadium to face Al Gharafa on Tuesday December 9th. The visitors had not started their season well and were in the lower reaches of the table.
However the boys in blue were inspired form last night as they put six goals past the team who lay in 3rd spot.
Ater 15 minute the Waves were already three goals up, the first to get on the score sheet was last season’s second top striker Sebastian Saez (2’). Then Jouahar Al Kaabi added the second just three minutes later as the Cheetahs looked like they were in a state of shock. The Argentine Saez then grabbed his second as his side seemed like they could score with every attack (13’).
Then Gharafa finally found a reply when Miku scored on the 23rd minute. However this goal wouldn’t stem the flow of Wakrah attacks, instead they went to score two more before the end of the first half.
The mercurial Adel Ahmad popped up to make it 4-1 on the 28th minute and then Sebastian Sáez who was running rings around the Gharafa defense finally got his hat trick on the 42nd minute and his teams 5th goal.
In the second half Gharafa head coach Paqueta changed his formation and his side stopped conceding until the 86th minute when Ahmad Koheyl put the ball in the net to give his side a 5 goal margin over the home side.
The result leaves both teams were they were with Gharafa still in 3rd and Wakrah in 12th in the Qatar Stars League.
