Al-Rayyan Sports Club officially lodged a protest to Dr. Muhsen Al-Enzi, the Kuwaiti match commissioner of their match against Al-Seeb which was played last Wednesday within the semifinal of the GCC Club Championship.

Al-Rayyan demanded to cancel this yellow card against the team Korean professional player Kim Young, noting that the aggressiveness was from the side of the Omani player which cause an injury to the Korean player.

Al-Rayyan Head of Football Mr. Ali Salem Ofaifiah said after the match that Al-Rayyan submitted the protest to the match commissioner especially when the player didn’t deserve the yellow card.

Al-Rayyan Head Coach Jimenez said: “The field of play turf was really bad and caused the injuries of both players Tabata and Kim Young and I am not sure whether they will be available for the Emir Cup match against El Jaish or not."

He stressed during the post-match press conference: “Al-Rayyan didn’t perform well during the second half due to the bad turf and they had to run a lot to possess the ball.”

Commenting on the second leg, Jimenez said: “I can’t comment on it now, but it is natural that we will seek to win. However we will suspend the GCC file for now until we are done with El Jaish confrontation.”
