Kuala Lumpur: A two-day AFC Club Licensing Workshop for 2014 has been held in the Malaysian capital city as part of the on-going efforts to improve professional football within AFC Member Associations.

The football associations of Uzbekistan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Korea Republic, Jordan, Japan, Iran, India, China and Australia were invited to make presentations on their Club Licensing Systems during the first day of the workshop on Thursday.

Among others, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) welcomed representatives of the club licensing and football departments from the Qatar Stars League.

The presentations consisted of 11 different member associations (including QSL) on their current position of club licensing, including the challenges they have faced and good practices they have implemented.

The second part was facilitated by the AFC and involved discussion around proposed changes to club licensing regulations.

The workshop on the whole was well received by all member associations. The knowledge sharing and discussion has led to a number of potential new ideas to be used by QSL management in the future.
