Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 8 match against Al Ahli.

“A very important task awaits us, especially since Al Ahli will be a strong opponent for Al Sadd because they need to collect more points. They are a good team that deserves a better place in the table.

“It is a very important match for us, we cannot relax or be complacent. We made some mistakes in previous matches. Three points from the Al Ahli match will be important before facing Al Duhail in Week 9.

“All upcoming matches are strong and difficult, and we hope to continue our unbeaten run. Everyone plays against us with the same strength and we will make sure that all players are ready to play the match.

Regarding the rumours that I will leave the team, I wish to say I am currently focused on my work with Al Sadd and I cannot talk about anything else,” said Xavi.

Al Sadd player Tarek Salman said, “The match against Al Ahli will see great focus from all players, after we achieved what was required in the previous match against Umm Salal.

“We work for each match separately and we thank God for the Amir Cup success. Having won full points against Umm Salal, our goal will be victory against Al Ahli in the next match.”
