We’ve prepared well for Qatar SC game: Al Wakrah coach Marquez
Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 17 match against Qatar SC.
“We worked well in preparations over the past few days for the match against Qatar SC. The team is ready for this match as we had enough time to prepare for it. I hope the positive results of the team will come back again. The players are fighting and the training went off in an excellent way.
“Al Wakrah are always able to recover lost touch and post wins and we were keen on doing that again. It is normal in football that there are many mistakes, but not all mistakes are translated into goals, but in one moment our team made a mistake and that was translated into a goal against us.
“This is difficult to take (the only goal in their last match against Al Arabi), but we will restore the order with good work with fighting players, good training and a sound mentality. We need to be playing as a team to get back on track again.
Al Wakrah player Mohamed Benyettou said, “Our match against Qatar SC is very important as we face a strong competitor. There is no substitute for victory and my team knows this. We are always looking for the three points and wins. A win this week will allow us to return to winning ways. Our preparations have been strong because we always work in training on the tactical and technical sides in a good way.
“I think we had enough time to be ready for this match. I admit that Al Wakrah suffer from a lack of goals this season. Only 13 goals have been scored and only one goal has been scored in seven games that have been played. I do not know the reasons behind this, sometimes it is due to poor concentration, and sometimes because of bad luck.”
