QNB Stars League team Al Sadd goalkeeper Saoud Al Hajri will receive further treatment for his anterior cruciate ligament injury at a rehabilitation centre in Espanyol, Spain.

He is expected to fully recover from the injury, that he suffered during the team’s pre-season camp in Austria in August, and resume training in early February before the start of AFC Champions League, the club’s website said.

Saoud, who moved to Al Sadd from Al Rayyan in June, had undergone a surgery at Qatar’s orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital Aspetar.

Al Hajri said, “I’m still in rehabilitation, and I’ll work hard in order to reach complete physical and technical fitness. I’ll leave for Spain in the upcoming days for the final phase of treatment in Espanyol, after which I’ll join team training hopefully at the start of February, ahead of the AFC Champions League games.”

Meanwhile, Al Sadd players, with the exception of injured Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah and five Olympic team members who are doing duty for Qatar at the Asian Under-23 Championship in China, continued their preparations ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 12 game against Al Markhiya on 13th January.
