Already relegated Al Wakrah will be looking to get a moral boosting result when they take on Umm Salal on Friday evening. Blue Waves boss Kais Yaâkoubi spoke to the media ahead of the game

Yaâkoubi opened up the press conference stressing that despite being relegated Al Wakrah’s upcoming match is of importance for the side. “We are out of the league, but we are professional and we must prepare the side for the Emir cup, in order to cancel out the failure of the league. This is a important game for the side against Umm Salal.”

“I’m sad, we did our best to reach our target but we didn't achieve it. I am sad for the fans, the players and the management of the club. Now we have two final games against Umm Salal and Al Sailiya and we must do our best from these games” added the Tunisian coach when asked about his feelings on Al Wakrah’s relegation.

Yaâkoubi  brought the press conference to a close noting that everyone in the club should take responsibility for Wakrah’s relegation. “In order to improve ourselves we need to have a frank discussion with the management on where everything went wrong. We all made mistakes at Al Wakrah, but I personally do not feel guilty I tried my best to motivate the side as a coach.”

Umm Salal are one of the form sides in the QSL and will be looking to add to their seven game undefeated streak in the league. Umm Salal’s Egyptian coach Mahmoud Jaber spoke to the local media ahead of the game at Wakrah stadium.

Jaber opened up the press conference noting that already Wakrah can still pose problems for his side.“Al Wakrah are officially relegated but this will be a test for us. They have no pressure on them now and will play with freedom. We still have two matches left to play, We have worked hard and showed discipline and we deserve to be in the position we are in the league.”

“Our target is to prepare the team for the Emir cup, regardless of where we finish in the league. The Emir cup is our biggest priority. I hope we will finish strongly in the league” noted the Egyptian coach when asked about Umm Salal’s goals for the remainder of the season.

Jaber ended the press conference suggesting that he may turn to youth players in the last two games of the domestic season. “The injuries we have at the moment doesn't give me the opportunity to change around the squad recently.  However I will be using our younger players, and senior players returning from injury in the final two games of the season.
