The QNB Stars League Week 2 fixtures on Friday are Al Rayyan vs Umm Salal (17:30) and Al Ahli vs Qatar SC (19:40) at the Al Sadd Stadium.

Al Rayyan vs Umm Salal

Al Rayyan will be looking to complete a hat-trick of victories in the new season, after winning the one-off Sheikh Jassim Cup match over formidable Al Duhail and QNB Stars League Week 2 game against Al Ahli.

The Lions will continue to miss ace Moroccan striker Abderrazaq Hamdallah, their top scorer last season with 18 goals, due to a prolonged injury.

But they have the likes of Rodrigo Tabata, Sebastian Soria, Koh Myong-Jin, Abdulrahman Al Harazi, Daniel Goumou, Khalfan Ibrahim and Gonzalo Vieira. They will miss new recruit, striker Jonathan Menendez from Argentina, as he has yet to complete documentation.

Umm Salal will also miss spearhead Christian Osaguona from Nigeria as he strained his ligament while playing against Al Sailiya.

Yannick Sagbo, Ismail Mahmoud, Mahmoud Mawas and Adel Rhaili are their key players.

Al Ahli vs Qatar SC

Al Ahli, who lost to Al Rayyan in their opener, will be keen to open their account. But Milan Macala’s men suffered a setback as Iranian professional player Mohammed Reza has been ruled out with an ankle injury.

On the other hand, Qatar SC, under Abdulla Mubarak, are flying high following their big win over Al Gharafa. Their players are staying highly motivated too.

The Kings had replaced three of their foreign players from last season and signed Hussein Ali, Alaeddin Al Dali and Brazilian Sandro Ferreira while keeping Syrian Osama Omri.
