QNB Stars League Week 2 — Al Duhail 6 Al Khor 0

Al Duhail cruised to a comfortable 6-0 victory over Al Khor in Week 2 of the QNB Stars League at the Khalifa International Stadium on Saturday, thanks to goals from Yousef El Arabi (10th minute), Almoez Ali (23rd and 73rd minutes), Edmilson (58th and 73rd) and Nam Tae-Hee (62nd).

Al Duhail were always going to be favourites and yet again it was a typically-destructive performance from their star man Yousef El Arabi. He grabbed the first from the penalty spot, coolly slotting home after Edmilson had been upended in the box.

It did not take long for Al Duhail to net the second as Almoez latched onto a Lucas Mendes through ball, turned his marker and struck home for the important second of the evening.

Any half-time tactics from Al Khor were ripped apart through a succession of three goals in six minutes. Firstly, Edmilson finished with aplomb after receiving the ball across the area from El Arabi, followed by Nam chasing up the rebound from El Arabi’s saved shot.

In another act of unselfishness, El Arabi became provider again for Edmilson to net his second goal.

The scoring was completed by Almoez who reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box and hammered home.

All in all, it was a very satisfactory night for The Red Knights, but a harsh lesson for Al Khor who were never able to get a grip on the game and had no answer to the might of the opposition attack.
