QNB Stars League- Match of the week- Al Rayyan Vs Al Duhail

Two unbeaten sides will face off in the QNB Stars League match of the week for round three. Both Al Rayyan and Al Duhail have serious title ambitions, and something may have to give when they take on each other on Friday evening at Al Sadd stadium.

Al Rayyan head into the tie in fine form in the league, after registering two comfortable wins against Al Khor and Al Kharaitiyat in previous rounds. In front of goal they have scored seven in just two games with summer signings Abderrazak Hamdallah and Mouhcine Moutouali already building up an understanding. In defence too, the Lions have been dominant only conceding on three occasions. Whilst it’s also important to note that two of those came from the penalty spot.

Michael Laudrup will be looking to find the balance in defence and attack for this tie and the return of South Korean midfielder Koh Myong-jin from suspension will certainly help his sides cause. Koh is a fantastic technical midfielder, who is also a  strong tackler. This balance will be important in breaking up the Duhail attacks.

As for Duhail, they have also registered back to back wins comfortably beating Qatar SC and Al Arabi in the process. Head coach Djamel Belmadi will expect nothing less than a win in this match, as his new side looks to start their first season in existence with the QNB Stars League title.

Young Qatari attacker Almoez Ali has started the season well, and has scored a goal in each of his starts this season. The youngster has blossomed into a key player for both club and country over the last year, and will again be targeting goals against a tough Rayyan back-line.

It certainly promises to be an interesting early season encounter between two title rivals when Al Rayyan take on Al Duhail in the QNB Stars League match of the week for round two. You can pick up ticket information for the match here
