Pre Match Press Conference - Al Markhiya

Newcomers Al Markhiya will run into Al Rayyan in Round 4 of the QNB Stars League at the Al Sadd Stadium on Sunday. Al Markhiya’s assistant coach Mohammed Ali addressed the pre match Press Conference in the absence of coach Ayman Mansour, who recently replaced Yousef Adam.

“We’re all set for the clash. It goes without saying that Al Rayyan are a strong side., so we’re prepared to put up a stronger showing than what we did against Al Sadd in the first round. We’re aiming high and will go all out.

“We’ve a good batch of players to choose from and all of them are keen on giving off their best performances. During the break, we could give chances to our youngsters in the QSL Cup and they all gained valuable experience,” said Ali.

Asked whether a draw would satisfy them, he said. “We target victory as we must be collecting maximum number of points. However, we’re realistic too. One point from this match, considering that Al Rayyan are title contenders, will satisfy us.”

Ali concluded the conference, saying they were particularly thankful to the Qatar Stars League’s Prozone statistics, which enable teams to assess the strengths and weaknesses of all teams.

“We’ll work on our rivals’ weak points,” he added.
