Pre Match Press Conference - Al Ahli

Al Ahli coach Joaquin Caparros said his players were not to be overawed that they were facing champion side Al Duhail in Round 4 of the QNB Stars League at the latter’s home ground on Sunday. The Spaniard was addressing a Press Conference on Saturday.

“This is going to be our toughest game so far in the league this season. It’s true that we’re up against one of the best teams around. That does not deter us from aiming high. We’ve had good training sessions and our players took the most out of the QSL Cup fixtures, where we drew one match and lost another. We’ve taken the positives and are working on areas for improvement,” said Caparros.

“We never had all our professional players together due to injuries and suspensions. The absence of a full team made a big difference in our results. Once they’re ready and raring to go, we can achieve many positive results. But then, our first three games were also against strong sides.

“I’m sad that our three attackers could score just one goal so far in the league. That left Meshaal Abdullah working overtime and I hope Cristian Nazarit would come good against Al Duhail,” he added.
