Pre-Match Press Conference – Al Khor
Al Khor coach Nassif Al Bayawi spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League match against Qatar SC.
“First of all, I’m no stranger to Qatar football having assisted French coach Bernard Simondi at Al Kharaitiyat. I’m happy to be back coaching in this country and I look forward to my first league match, against Qatar SC, with a lot of hope. We’re definitely looking forward to a positive result.
“Qatar SC are the bottom side, but we aren’t taking them lightly. We’re just above them in the table. We’re coming from four straight defeats in the league and the players’ morale is very low. My immediate priority is to boost their morale and, hopefully, you’ll see a different Al Khor in the future games.
“And then, we greatly benefited from the two QSL Cup matches during the break. In Round 3, we defeated Al Sailiya 2-1 and then played out a goalless draw with Qatar SC. The league is still seven matches old and I’m confident we can improve our position by performing in a far better way. Our players have the potential to do that,” he said.
