Our goal is to beat Al Khor: Al Wakrah coach Marquez
Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 20 match against Al Khor.
“My team will continue to work hard in order to continue the series of positive results that we achieved in the recent period. Everyone adheres to this goal in order to finish the season in the best possible way.
“We have six points remaining in the league championship to be won through the remaining two rounds and of course we will strive to collect these points to occupy the best possible place in the table. I think we really deserve that, given the good level we presented this season.
“We are safe from relegation, but it does not mean that we will play for a draw against Al Khor because we seek to win the last two matches in the league,” said Marquez.
Al Wakrah player Khalid Yousef said, “The preparations for the resumption of the league were good and everyone is required to make more efforts in order to continue the excellent results we have achieved of late.
“We take all matches seriously and will go into the Al Khor match with the aim of winning to please the fans. We know the opponents well. They have great strength in the midfield and attack, but that will not prevent us from exploiting their defensive weaknesses to score goals.
“I have succeeded in quickly adapting to Al Wakrah club and did not feel that I am a stranger to the club. My team-mates, and technical as well as administrative staff, supported me strongly.”
