El Jaish salvage a point in close game against Kharaitiyat

El Jaish continued to struggle in round 13. The Soldiers welcome Al Kharaitiyat to the Abdullah bin Khalifa stadium.

With El Jaish in 4th place a win would have seen them over take Al Gharafa but the game was a tight affair with chances few and far between.

It was the visitors who scored first when Abdul-Aziz Rashid Al Ansari put the ball in the back of the net in the 31st minute.

The referee blew for the half time whistle as El Jaish struggled to break down a determined Thunders defense.--
In the second half the Soldiers pinned the visitors back into their own half but they could make all the possession tell.

The minutes ticked by and with just 10 minutes of normal time left Kharaitiyat were on the home stretch.

However El Jaish found a moment of magic when new playmaker Romarinho grabbed a point for his team by scoring on the 80th minute. The Brazilian saved his side’s blushes in a game many expected them to win.

The result means that El Jaish stay in 4th with 22 points whilst Kharaitiyat stay in 11th with just 12 points.
