Almoez Ali wins best U23 player award
Lekhwiya attacker Almoez Ali has been crowned the best U23 player at QFA awards this evening. The 21 year old winger picked up the award at the QNCC beating Al Gharafa goalkeeper Yusef Hassan and Al Sadd midfielder Salem Al Hajri to the crown.
The Qatari international has been a mainstay for Lekhwiya this season making a total of 25 appearances as the Red Knights went all the way to lift their fifth ever QSL falcon shield. Utilized on the wing or in attack Ali has made a vital contribution in attack for his side.
Ali enjoyed a fine 2016/2017 season having been called up for the Qatar national team on a number of occasions for their Russia 2018 qualification campaign. Whilst domestically the Aspire graduate has been a regular choice for his side in a number of positions, making a big impact for the Red Knights scoring 8 goals, and providing 8 assists for his team-mates.
