Current QNB Stars League leaders Al Sadd renewed the contract with star Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah until 2024. He signed the deal in the presence of the club’s General Manager Turki Nasser Al Ali.

“The new contract with Al Sadd makes me feel proud and I’m happy,” Baghdad said on the club’s website.

“I’m very excited and pleased to have signed this contract. I want to thank everyone in the club, the management, the players and the coach, as well as fans whom I love so much. I’m also happy with the club’s project and I promise everyone to offer my best in the upcoming competitions,” he added.

Baghdad has been one of the best players in the QNB Stars League ever since he joined Al Sadd from Etoile du Sahel in 2015.

This season, he has played 15 matches in the QNB Stars League and has become the all-time top scorer in the Qatar league with 29 goals. He was also the top scorer in the 2018 AFC Champions League with 13 goals.
